Three or four years ago I started following a blog called WOVEMBER. Everything I needed to know about British Wool was in the blog. I met all kinds of fiber artists through the blog and learned so much. In Western Massachusetts we have so many fiber artists, most known only to local people.
With FIBERuary I wanted to share the wealth of information. So this past February it started on the Whispering Pines Blog, sharing information about so many topics including: Small sheep farmers, Shearers, People who put on The Massachusetts Sheep and Wool Craft Fair, Flax growers and Producers, Rug hookers, Pygora Goats, Angora rabbits, Rare Breeds, Dyers, Old wheels and so much more. It was a success, as readership grew.
With FIBERuary.com, its official home, I will be keeping you informed about Fiber happenings and bits of info on fiber and in February (FIBERuary) we will start again. More and more people are willing to write for the coming year.Liz Sorenson of Sheep and ShawlM is joining me on this journey holding events at her shop in South Deerfield.
